I struggle to think of an animal that is as unique as the giraffe, both aesthetically and

genetically. They present a unique set of challenges to the photographer but that is good,

if it was easy there would be no drive to improve. This moment is rare; an adult female

lowers her neck to feed and her calf, a year old, bends over her mother. Giraffe are very

sociable animals and will form herds and bonds that last a lifetime.
